The English Constitution Party fully supports traditional English pubs and wants to see them claimed back as an English communal right.
We need a ‘tax axe’ on beer and spirits and to put pubs back at the heart of English communities. The landlords will dictate what is and is not allowed in the pub, not the government. We can give the public a choice of non smoking and smoking pubs. Traditional pubs for a traditional England.
We believe that successive governments i.e. the British Establishment, has deliberately targeted pubs to remove a key social aspect from the English working class. It is an English tradition to have a common meeting place and to have a beer with friends and family after a day’s work, or to chill at the weekend. This is seen as a threat to the state.
The British have targeted pubs as the mainstay of English life. We can and should reclaim them with the help of landlords, both freehold and large scale businesses.
My Grandad ran a pub in Hammersmith not far from the Fullers Brewery. His pub was demolished to make way for the Hammersmith flyover. It was a community spirited pub and highly successful.

Good old fashioned English traditions we need back again. This is a great idea. Pubs without TV’s blasting sport out so we can sit and have a conversation would be really nice. I can’t stand ‘wine bars’.

We do need our pubs back. But one for smoking, and one for non-smokers splits us up!….
What right has the government to put a tax on anything? They have contributed nothing to the production of any of the goods produced, so why should they have the right to come in an demand money from the producers?

fully agree having worked in the industry the powers that be destroyed the public houses that once were some for uperend yuppie houses and many to close permanently some to be demolished and some for other use’s such as mini markets and places of worship

In addition, pubs and working men’s clubs are pivotal in unifying community’s and can act as a safe harbour for those seeking assistance or advice, the old adage, “I don’t know mate but I know a man who does, have a word with him over their”, is vital in cultural resilience, I believe the modern term is “connectivity”.
Couldn’t agree more. Abolish the British Imperial pint, where it swims over the top of the glass like dish water. Bring back adjustable sparklers so that we can all enjoy foaming tankards of English ale.
great idea graham, this is a brilliant idea and i fully back it, ENGLISH PUBS are part of the english tradition and we must not loose them, i was speaking to someone today who said that he was charged £ 10 pounds for a large glass of wine, its truly ridiculous the cost of going out for a drink, so yes graham i am all for it
